What is a wildfire defense (exterior sprinkler) system?

A system of roof, eave, and perimeter sprinklers — sometimes paired with Class A foam or long-term retardant — that wets your home and the ground around it as a wildfire approaches. That raises local moisture so wind-blown embers are less likely to ignite. It is not an interior NFPA 13D sprinkler.
